Over four weeks into the school year and my heart grows weary of hearing the girls tell discouraging tales of a teacher who sounds like she thinks the military method of elementary discipline will bring about any kind of success. How does having the entire class punished teach the actual perpetrators anything? There is no logic. Certainly not for the juvenile age group. Now, twenty years later in a boot camp setting this might bring about some results. However, kids don't know how to manipulate or force any kind of behavioral change in the obnoxiously undisciplined classmate.
