Bereaving and breathtaking

His fourth and final Rugby season 2015 

The boy just left for his senior trip. An unwelcome reminder of last summer's good bye heart ache and of the one to follow in a couple months as the nest continues to empty. When he returns Mike's plane will have just taken off for Texas via China, to pick up more radio equipment. Two planes passing in the night literally. Only the grace of God Almighty will continue to sustain through‪#‎medlinsinconstanttransition‬ . OK. That's more like‪#‎TheEntireWorldInConstantTransition‬, right? 😮😮😮

One never really knows what they sign up for when they say I do, start a family or move to the overseas mission field.... until some of the most profoundly surreal, unavoidable, seemingly earth shattering (because sometimes your world seems to get violently rocked, doesn't it?), poignant but completely must-happen moments finally approach (.....and for each one of those moments you have to decide whether or not to let God's boundless grace sustain and carry you through once again..... or....or what?) Eeeeeeeeek !!!!! I can't possibly be old enough for this stuff, much less for more of it. Brutal but beautiful. Bereaving and breathtaking. Here I sit pensively curious as to where it all leads in between here and heaven: What's predictable and what is not. What's already foreshadowed and what is not (because it simply can't be). What's safe to assume and what is not. What's okay to hold on to and what will remain elusive as time speeds up by the....by the what, exactly? How do measure that with pinpoint accuracy and satisfying comprehension?

Ooooofta !!!! Hang on to your britches, world. This life [on this side of heaven] will be all over faster than any of us can possibly comprehend with our finite minds. After all, "He makes everything beautiful in his time. He has set eternity in the hearts of men but they cannot fathom what he has done from beginning to end." -Ezekiel 3:11.
