Before the new GM is announced and arrives for duty, Mike went ahead and got the board's approval [mainly Roger Camping] for three weeks off in May. For the price of the flight tickets, two weeks is prohibitive compared to what all can be accomplished in three.
Okay....hm....brainstorming the agenda......
- meet with Tom Hardeman [Superintendent of Faith Academy]
- introduce Mike to tenure staff from my old school days
- observe FA commencement
- fill out school apps for all five kids
- fill out FA employment/volunteer app for myself [to work part time-full time]
- learn as much from the Edge staff as possible [heart of the ministry and staff, needs, goals...etc.]
- help out with the music festival on the 29th
- check out condominiums for rent [in Makati and Pasig]
- find places to buy organic produce and other foods
- find a church
- ....etc
I purchase tickets next weekend. There will also be more money to make in the stock market , between now and then, to help increase the necessary spending allowance for the entire trip. Would really also like to make it out to Pinatubo and Taal Volcano for a little site seeing. However, the most salivated pleasure side trip would be to Palawan. Fortunately, there are many opportunities for discounted touring on the island of choice. So, if three weeks isn't too constrictive, Palawan may still end up happening. What a photo -shooting pleasure that would turn out to be!
Mom seems to think that if my Dad knows about the trip, he'd most likely find a way to get up to Manila to see me. Just in case, a letter will be sent out next week of our travel dates. I'm not sure, yet, as to whether or not we will try to make flight plans down to Mindanao. If memory serves me right, mom's told me those domestic flights between Davao and Manila are pricey. There's much to think about and strategize. As much as possible, there will be the avoidance of inviting any level of stress from any potentially assumed obligations. There will be plenty of opportunity for more long awaited family bonding in the near future.
