if you only knew the millions of things I want to say....but don't

Monday

operation weekend surprise

it's MONDAY afternoon: EDSA is not the ideal place to stall/run out of gas [there's an apparent leak] in the middle of rush hour.....says the angry vehicle behind, sitting on his horn and deliberately ramming our rear to scare us out of his way. That's what 6-8 lanes one direction...so 12-14 lanes of total chaos. But hey, once he saw I had a wee one in the car and witnesses more stalling as I tried to restart and get out of the way, maybe...just maybe that's what cooled his pants. But even better is how in that desperate moment of begging God almighty to take the wheel and get us to the nearest pump on empty, there's no mistake about it. He did just that. That's one way to find oneself grateful to be home from the airport.... in one piece to the rest of the babes.

That was the end of Mike's surprise weekend visit home. Thursday night the ten year old didn't get any sleep as she burned the midnight oil pleading with Jesus to bring her daddy home for the weekend. Being an amateur to such long family separations, four weeks was long enough and she couldn't bare another 2 weeks without reciprocated tangible affection. So, when the door bell rang at the gate at 7pm Friday evening and out from the night's shadows his glistening sweat laced head appeared, she could only respond with uncontrollable tears. The 16 yr old brewed a sentimental first pot of coffee and drank his first with the pops in four weeks. We squeezed in as much quality time together as possible with swimming, eating out while enjoying a tantalizing view of the city, quiet dessert....etc. The best part was that nowhere we went on Saturday did we have to compete with the city crowds and the accompanying volume. It was peaceful. Sunday was peaceful. It was awesome.

Thanks, to Jesus and a sweet gentle congregation of Prescott Valley, Operation Weekend Surprise for the kids successfully happened. Now he's on a plane back to Davao and we pray that the next two weeks are intensely productive and successful. It's Davao's first on air gift drive ever.

We are grateful. Thankful. humbled by Love. We look forward to the rest of Spring Break, a screaming fast two weeks, and togetherness....LAWTS of togetherness....!!!....
