if you only knew the millions of things I want to say....but don't

Friday

waiting for tomorrow

Waiting for tomorrow
Why can't she see it yet
Will it be in her favor
Will tomorrow love her like she wants
Or will it crush her so

The sun's not setting yet
She can breath and sing if she wants
There is still strength for today
And beauty still scattered about her
Hope for happy endings and songs to ease the soul

From the distance comes a breeze
Flowing through her hair and smelling like sweet magnolia
Carrying white flowers in gentle waves
As if to comfort her soul
It carries with it hope for tomorrow and breath for today

The sun is finally setting
Life's final ray of love and hope
There is no hint of what is next
Or what is on the other side
No goodness too great
No joy too overflowing
That's what she wants
But is that what comes

As darkness settles and pushes out light
Can she breath one last breath of hope
Holding on to unmet promises
Before they're forgotten
Will they fade away to be seen no more
Will they come dancing back with more hope and new promises

The day's last light is gone
Why must she surrender to the great unknown
No preview
No foreshadowing
She must surrender and rest for tomorrow
She must trust there's beauty on the other side
Because love hope and peace never go away
No matter the sadness
No matter the storm

Jesus holds her in the palm of his hand
She must trust him
Trust him more than herself
He's the steady in the storms
The peace amidst the panic
He's the love that never wavers
Oh such true companionship is he
