if you only knew the millions of things I want to say....but don't

Wednesday

academic transition

Monday was definitely a paltry one for the girls as Tori explains how it was the "worse day yet" at school.  The sensitive Victorian had tears welling up in her pearly brown eyes while unraveling details of  the day's frustrations  which have added to the feelings of  being the bad kid with the painful twist of unworthiness.  That morning, after dropping the boys off, I had already turned in their registration forms for Acorn Montessori.  Wanting to be the rescuer from their stressful day, I immediately asked when they wanted to start in their new school.  "Tomorrow or Wednesday?" The first reply was, "tomorrow" followed one second later with, "...wait, Wednesday, we wanna tell our friends 'good-bye' tomorrow."   Their vocal cords seemed to suddenly chime an intimation of relief and excitement.

Yesterday afternoon was another explanation of how extra homework was piled on because of class misbehavior.  [I've been gradually concluding, as these tales piled over their first and last five weeks of school, that the teacher doesn't have a grasp on how to affectively/constructively control her classroom younglings].  However, it wasn't laced with the slightest tone of stress.  After all....they wouldn't have to do that annexed monstrous task.  In her excitement amidst the moments of her last day's end, Sierra had  cleared out her desk before getting in the exit line for the vehicular parental pick up.

This morning was as silky smooth as it could get.  While Mike filled out outprocessing paperwork in the office, Tori cleared out her desk and the girls' friends tried to physically restrain them from leaving.  Giggles and sadness all at the same time.  Waiting....waiting...waiting...and the girls finally freed themselves running to the office where Mike was waiting for them.

On to Acorn....Mike articulated to Sierra that if she wanted to go back to being called Sierra [she'd been called by her first name, Glennie, for the past year *by her choice*] now was the time to make sure that's how she introduces herself.  By her typically self-governing decision she decided to do just that.  She got the teacher she wanted...Mr. Matthews.  I'm guessing Lilly Leufkens had been effusing to her how wonderful the guys is.  Tori has been assigned into Lilly's class.  Mike is very pleased with the clean organization of the classrooms...an apparently stark difference from the one they had just left.
