Put ♥ this ♥ on ♥ your ♥ status ♥ if ♥ you ♥ know ♥ someone ♥ who ♥ has ♥ or ♥ had ♥ cancer! ♥ All I wish for in 2010 is a CURE! ♥ 93% WON'T Copy and Paste this, will YOU?______________
That's one of the appeals getting passed around facebook.
Scientists have yet to make the discovery of any "cure" for any disease...much less cancer. But this is how the innocently ignorant continue to get strung along with the idea that the fatal diagnosis is one to be greatly feared and a mysterious puzzler for the scientific medical community. If enough uneducated and "innocently" ignorant get introduced and influenced often enough, they will contribute in various forms to help raise "awareness" and money for the cancer society.
But truly, this is no rocket science puzzler of unexplainable complications anyone should be leaving to the supposedly more intelligent scientific geniuses. Dr. Samuel Epstein, world renowned chemist [and countless others], have tossed aside any financial interests in keeping the public lured from scientific facts and truths. If ALL well meaning good doer's, in America and around the world, dared to do their own digging and join in the crusade for full disclosure, the rest of society would be safe from financially and medically tied government endorsed lobbying that do nothing genuine for the sake of "public health"...that is in the argument for cancer.
Dr. Epstein has already done the necessary digging to make all truth and fact seekers well aware of how the American Cancer Society is the wealthiest non-profit organization using [if that much??] 25% of donations and raised funds for actual cancer research....using the other 75% to indulge in luxury living of sorts. That would be at the expense of everyone that has answered [what they thought] to be a 100% genuine plea for help in the fight against cancer. Dr. Epstein has also uncovered the facts on radiation, chemotherapy, mammograms....etc. How they do more harm than the marketed good for the "dying". But even more important, he is one of the greatest scientists leading the crusade in educating the human race and how they can avoid cancer by simply avoiding the use or consumption of cancer causing agents. There are safe and more beneficial alternatives. NO ONE is forced to use products and/or consume foods which would tie our hands behind our backs...leaving us to a life of gloom and doom...and undesired timely death otherwise. Expense is no excuse, either.
But despite all available facts and knowledge, there are grave unfortunates:
- There are still a great many number that would much rather live by the lie that "ignorance is bliss". The reality, as history repeatedly shows us all, is that ignorance is fatal, causing more grief than any of us could ever suspect or wish upon ourselves.
- There are those incapable of accepting the ugly truth for whatever reason. It has been said to me once that a formal education would be a beautiful legacy for my children to witness [barf] and is necessary to know the truth and all facts. Uh...there's one word to define such a statement. Stupid. My more passionate definition: dumbass. This is how "good people" get themselves screwed by the government and pharmaceutical industry: believing that only a "formal education" makes us capable of knowing all scientific/medical truths [and facts] and capable of talking/living intelligently by such. Without that "formal education" one has no right to even speak against the blatant flaws of the pharmaceutical industry which is so tightly/financially knit to the medical professionals and government.
- The end result is that "responsible" people have proven themselves incredibly irresponsible. They can't [and choose not to] handle the responsibility of doing what is right by ALL things they learn. I'm not entirely above approach. But in the case of the pharmaceutical industry I refuse to blatantly turn any blind eye to the very things that can and will affect the well being of my family and children.
While this blog entry may appear to be heartless and egotistical [especially towards those who have been (and are still) in the fight of their lives. The fortunate [and unfortunate] facts do speak for themselves. The voicing of one's opinion and knowledge often gets misconstrued as lack of compassion. I carry no guilt for misplaced judgement on sharing what I know. Knowledge truly is power. Even knowledge on how one can avoid the supposedly far too "expensive" methods of changing from a risky lifestyle to a more safe and beneficial one.
